Looking for My Keys／鍵を探す（CEFR B1）

This afternoon, I was about to leave the house when I realized I couldn’t find my keys. I checked my bag, my pockets, and the kitchen counter, but they weren’t there. I started retracing my steps, thinking about where I had last seen them.

I went to the living room and looked under the cushions on the sofa. Then, I checked the table near the door. Finally, I remembered putting them on the shelf in my bedroom. I walked there, and sure enough, the keys were right where I had left them. I laughed at myself for forgetting and put them in my pocket. Losing keys can be frustrating, but finding them always feels like a small victory.
